Things to do in Richmond: Children's Museum and a Sweet Spot

Just moved to the Richmond area and looking for something fun to do with your kids? Look no further! For a day filled with play, laughs, and some yummy sweets,  plan a visit to the Children's Museum in Short Pump and then to the Sweet Spot for a little treat!
First, let your children's imaginations run wild while burning off some energy at the Children's Museum of Richmond! With two great locations (Glen Allen and Richmond) there is plenty of fun to be had. Both locations boast fun exhibits, art rooms, and various programs to keep your kids (and you!) on your toes. Be a captain for a day on the pirate ship, a queen on the throne at the castle, or climb the beanstalk just like Jack...whatever you want to be is only limited by your mind! Admission to the museum is roughly $8.00 per person, per visit. But, if you visit as often as we do, purchase a yearly family membership for just $125 and enjoy both facilities as much as you like! Hours vary by location, so be sure to check out their website for additional information.
If you visit the Short Pump museum, just two doors down you will find one of the coolest new retailers around – the Sweet Spot! This modern take on an old fashion candy store is warm and inviting with walls of candy to tempt even the most dedicated dieter! With childhood favorites like Sixlets and Mallo Cups, jars of rich chocolate treats, and tables of fun novelties, you will turn any frown upside down! And the staff...well, they enjoy what they do and you can tell! The Sweet Spot is open Monday- Saturday 11am-7pm with Sundays reserved for parties. AND, don’t forget to check out their event page! There you will find information on story time (YES! Story time in a candy store...everyone’s dream!), report card rewards, and even a contest to win one of the Worlds Largest Gummy Bears!
Home SWEET Henrico is a proud supporter of our local retailers and is proud to work where we live!
