VCU Rams Loses to Butler Bulldogs - You Win Some, You Lose Some

VCU Rams Lose to Butler Bulldogs - You Win Some, You Lose Some

The last few weeks have been amazing here in Richmond. The whole city has been buzzing and it seems everyone is bleeding black and gold. It has been fantastic watching a city come together for one common theme - cheering on our Rams who have brought so much pride to the great city of Richmond.

Last night was a heart breaker. The VCU Rams lost to the Butler Bulldogs with a score of 70 to 62. It was a hard fought fight but in the end only one team could be victorious - you win some, you lose some.

As the final buzzer was blown, the well wishes and congratulatory messages came streaming across Twitter and Facebook. I was proud to be a Richmonder and see so much class being demonstrated even though it wasn't the outcome we had all hoped for.

As I woke up this morning, I was deflated a bit to read about some riots that took place here in our area. It seems some just could not control their emotions and displayed their disappointment in some inappropriate ways. How disappointing that a few had to tarnish the great run we have had. But, I want people to know, this is not a good representation of what we stand for here in Richmond. Most of us stand tall and accept defeat graciously while acknowledging the hard work those kids put in to make it to the Final Four - something that was a FIRST for Richmond.

So, no looking back. Only looking forward with hope to another great year to come with more outstanding results. As Charlie Sheen would say: WINNING!
